LPN Practice Test FAQs
How many questions are on the NCLEX-PN?
The NCLEX-PN is a computerized adaptive test that shuts off between 75 and 145 questions. The computer stops once it is 95% confident you are above or below the passing standard, so a shorter exam does not mean you failed.
What score do I need to pass the NCLEX-PN?
There is no percentage score. You pass by performing above the NCSBN passing standard, a difficulty threshold measured in logits. Results are reported as pass or fail, usually within a few days of testing.
What is the difference between an LPN and an LVN?
They are the same license. LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse) is the title used in California and Texas; everywhere else it is called LPN. Both take the NCLEX-PN.
How should I study for the NCLEX-PN?
Focus on Physiological Adaptation, the largest test-plan section, plus prioritization, delegation, and scope-of-practice questions that test LPN judgment. Take timed practice tests like this one and study every explanation — understanding why answers are right or wrong is what moves the needle on a CAT exam.
